Two lives. One impossible pull.
About this project
The Space […] between Us or TSBU is a long-form story universe exploring intimacy, restraint, and the negotiations between two incomplete people. This narrative delves into the emotional landscapes of its characters, highlighting their vulnerabilities and strengths amid unspoken tensions. The multimedia project features a blend of fiction, illustration, visual essays, and behind-the-scenes reflections—released in layers that invite audience engagement. Each installment builds on the last while prompting viewers to reflect on their own connections, deepening their understanding of sharing life with others. Through its blend of art forms, TSBU creates a space for dialogue and exploration, allowing creators and audiences to navigate human relationship complexities together.

What makes TSBU a brilliant long-form story universe?
What makes The Space Between Us unique is its refusal to offer neat conclusions or tidy endings. The story unfolds continually, much like real life. It invites us to witness growth and setbacks. We learn how to bridge the gaps between ourselves and others. It recognizes that relationships, self-discovery, and healing are never truly “finished.” This openness mirrors the complexity of human experience. The project focuses less on resolution and more on honest, lived experience. It’s a work in progress—just like the people it follows—and one that grows richer with each new chapter and iteration. The Space Between Us is an ongoing exploration of human connection through the intertwined lives of people. It lays bare the delicious interplay between extroversion and introversion. This interplay exists between direct action and quiet avoidance. It highlights the unique value each can bring to the other’s life, as well as the emotional terror. Inspired by real conversations and lived experiences of the author, it offers an honest reflection on connection and coexistence. It’s a story about the fragile, often messy dance of wanting to be seen. At the same time, there is a fear of exposure. It is about balancing between holding on and letting go. More than just a romance, it delves into the unspoken tensions, miscommunications, and quiet battles that define many relationships. The project is motivated by a desire to illuminate how trauma quietly shapes our choices. Healing often begins not with grand gestures but with small moments of understanding and acceptance.
